Episode 109: Don’t be a sheep, be a zebra

How can you build a disability-led, neurodivergent-friendly business that actually works for your brain and body instead of forcing yourself into corporate-shaped boxes?

If you’re a business owner craving something more real, raw and relatable (and less “6am cold plunge hustle bro” nonsense), this episode shows you what that can really look like in practice.

In this episode, I am joined by brand designer Bethany Jewkes, who creates bold, personality-packed brands for disability-led, chronically ill, and neurodivergent business owners. We unpack toxic work culture, unmasking, and building a business around comfort, capacity, and actual joy—and find out all about Bethany’s signature pyjama approach to business!

“If it costs your happiness and your health, it’s not worth it.”

Episode 108: Build a business that fits your brain

What does it really take for “spicy-brained” (neurodivergent and/or disabled) people to build sustainable businesses that honour our needs and capacity - and how do we stop measuring ourselves against neurotypical standards?

In this episode of the Unconventional Business Podcast, I’m joined by Stephanie Ward, founder of Spicy Brain Collective, to explore what it actually takes for “spicy-brained” (neurodivergent and/or disabled) folks to run sustainable businesses without forcing themselves into neurotypical templates.

As someone who faced more than her share of adversity, finding herself physically disabled with 2 neurodivergent diagnoses, Stephanie knows what it’s like to try ten times harder just to “match the normies”, and uses her experience to empower and inspire others.

Episode 107: Making Peace With The Mess

What is radical self-acceptance? And could it really hold the keys to business success!?

In this episode of Unconventional Business PodcastI chat with Donna Henley, a business strategist who helps women who constantly second-guess themselves to build solid strategy foundations while practising radical self-acceptance.

Donna shares her journey from burnout, self-doubt, and “doing business the right way” to embracing her messy humanity, honouring her ADHD brain, and building a business that prioritises peace and freedom over hustle and perfection.

Together, we unpack what it really means to build a business you don’t need time off from, how to work with your brain instead of against it, and why authenticity, needs-awareness, and self-compassion are non‑negotiable for sustainable success—especially for neurodivergent entrepreneurs.

Episode 106: How do you keep going and stay in business?

How do you actually stay in business long‑term without burning out, especially as a neurodivergent, values‑led, self‑employed human?

To celebrate seven years in business, I’m sharing seven lessons I've learned the hard way, so you don't have to! The surprising truths, face‑slap moments, and practical mindset shifts that helped me go from crashed‑out corporate employee to building a business that genuinely supports my life (not the other way round).

“Work–life balance isn’t something I’m chasing anymore, it’s something I live.”

Episode 105: Is AI Making Us Less Creative?

Is AI making us less creative – especially us neurodivergent folks who might use it just to get through daily life?

I’m joined by Hari Patience-Davies for this meaty episode. Hari is a storytelling coach who helps people improve their public speaking and presentations. We originally connected on LinkedIn and immediately got into a big, uncomfortable question: Is AI making us less creative?

In this ep of the podcast, we talk about shame, late-diagnosed ADHD and autism, school trauma (hello, horrible art teachers), perfectionism, and the slippery slope of how easy it becomes to outsource our creativity and critical thinking to tools that were meant to “save us time”.

Episode 104: From Self-Doubt to Self-Trust

What happens when you shift from self-doubt to self-trust?

In this episode of the Unconventional Business Podcast, I am joined by Love & Breathwork Coach Hannah Holt for an honest (and mildly sweary) discussion to dismantle some of those pesky internal blocks that so often keep business owners playing small.

From overcoming the "good girl" narrative (oh hi, it me!) to understanding why our brains are wired to keep us safe (but stuck), Hannah and I break down how to move from a place of constant second-guessing to radical self-trust.

Episode 103: Ick-Free Marketing & Sales for ADHDers

Why do marketing and sales feel so goddamn icky for business owners with ADHD?

What is it about putting yourself out there that makes it feel like you're scooping your eyeballs out with spoons?

In this episode, I’m digging into my 25 years of experience inside the "marketing machine" to explore why most marketing advice is a one-way ticket to burnout or us neurodivergent business owners. Together, we're binning off the "six steps to six figures" hustle-bro nonsense and finding a way to market that doesn't feel like wearing someone else's clothes.

Episode 102: Why breathwork is prep work

What is breathwork? A bunch of woo or something deeper, more revealing?

In this episode of the Unconventional Business Podcast, I welcome back life coach and breathwork facilitator Sam Adams. Forget the "woo-woo" stereotypes - Sam brings a raw, relatable, and down-to-earth approach to a tool that is literally keeping you alive. We dive deep into how breathwork can be used as "prep work" for life’s most stressful moments, from the boardroom to the school run.

Episode 101: The Five Figures, Zero F***s Business

What is the Five Figures, Zero F***s Business?!

Welcome to Season 5! I am back on the microphone - and for the first time, with my actual face (lucky you!) as we gently slide a bit of video into the podcast. Today, we are diving deep into a concept I have been percolating recently: The Quiet Business (or as I affectionately call it, the "Five figures zero f***s business").

This episode was born from an aha moment in February 2026. After challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone and attend a major awards ceremony (as a finalist no less!), I found myself sitting on a long train ride home with a migraine and a profound realisation.

While everyone else was in their "glad rags" drinking wine at the awards ceremony, what I really wanted more than anything was to be at home tucking my son into bed. That lifestyle just isn't for me in this season of my life - and that is A-OK!
